Ferrero Group unveils new Wonka range alongside Netflix partnership
Ferrero Group, which owns brands such as Nutella, Ferrero Rocher and Tic Tac, is set to launch a new range of Wonka-related products in the UK and Ireland this autumn.
The new range will span multiple categories, including chocolate, sugar confectionery and ice cream, with seasonal and limited-edition products among the first launches.
Ferrero, which acquired the exclusive confectionery rights to the Wonka brand in 2018, said its research and development teams have been working to translate the “wonder” of the brand into new products, while maintaining its focus on quality, creativity and craftsmanship.
Craig Barker, managing director at Ferrero UK and Ireland, said: “Producing quality products that surprise and delight our consumers has always been a priority for us, and the launch of the new Wonka range reflects our unwavering commitment to innovation and to providing our consumers with unique brands that are loved generation after generation with quality at heart.
“We’re proud that our UK Alfreton team in Derbyshire has been key in the innovation and manufacturing for the Ferrero Group on this exciting launch. With the launch of Wonka, we continue to build with our distinctive brands, category leadership, and our commitment to innovating quality products that our consumers love.”
The range will also roll out across other international markets, including the US, France, Italy and Germany, as Ferrero looks to capitalise on Wonka’s global brand awareness.
Alessandro Rapali, premium chocolate president at Ferrero Group, said the business was “excited” to introduce a new family of Wonka products.
“For generations, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory has been part of popular culture. Our ambition is to apply the Ferrero lens to the Wonka universe and to bring fresh new energy to the seasonal aisle,” he said.
“Behind the scenes, our research, development and innovation teams have been carefully leveraging decades of experience in real chocolate factories, applying Ferrero’s signature quality and craftsmanship, and bringing to life a new Wonka world, one that we can’t wait to offer to Wonka fans.”
The launch comes as Ferrero also reveals an exclusive global partnership with Netflix, which acquired the Roald Dahl Story Company in 2021.
Netflix is expanding the Wonka universe on screen, with reality competition series The Golden Ticket set for 2026 and animated film Charlie vs. The Chocolate Factory planned for 2027.
The partnership will see Ferrero and Netflix work together on marketing, media and trade activity, linking new Wonka products with upcoming entertainment launches.
Filippo Zuffada, senior director of consumer products, international at Netflix, said: “Netflix is reimagining the Wonka universe built on extraordinary imagination and whimsical creations, and Ferrero, with its outstanding heritage of product innovation and brand-building, could not be a better home for this partnership.
“Together, with the magic of our upcoming entertainment and Ferrero’s world-class portfolio, we’re giving fans a delectable new way to experience the wonder of Wonka on screen and on shelves around the world.”
