High protein meal brand The Gym Kitchen has launched a new range of GLP-1 medication friendly meals as a response to the growing demand for nutrient-dense and smaller meal portions.

This is a strategic business move to leverage the growing popularity of weight-loss medications within the UK.

The new chilled meals range was designed to be high in protein and a source of fibre to offer customers nutritional value in a smaller 280g size.

The Gym Kitchen’s range has Asian Chicken Noodles, Meatball Pasta and Mexican Chicken & Rice and will launch in Sainsbury’s stores from 22 April onwards.

This marks a significant expansion for the brand in Sainsbury’s, with The Gym Kitchen’s presence increasing from 4 to 13, which reflects strong shopper demand for convenient, high-protein meals.

Founder Segun Akinwoleola, said: “The launch of our new ‘Nutrient-Packed GLP-1-friendly range reflects a clear shift in shopper needs, and together with the expansion of our core offer in Sainsbury’s, further cements the brand’s position as a category leader and go-to destination in functional chilled meals and beyond.”

The Gym Kitchen’s core chilled lines, BBQ Chicken Pasta, Chinese Chicken Curry and Chipotle Chicken Burrito, are also set to be stocked on shelves.

The business is also expanding its footprint across other retailers in the UK, including Asda and Morrisons.

The Gym Kitchen will launch three 550g frozen meals in Asda, Chicken Korma, Salt & Pepper Chicken and Chicken Katsu Curry and two new 400g chilled meals in Morrisons, Salt & Pepper Chicken and Chicken Carbonara.

This move comes as the use of weight loss medications has surged, with many food manufacturers introducing innovative products to meet the consumer demand.
