Healthy meals challenger brand The Gym Kitchen has launched a new ready-to-eat meats range which is available in Tesco from this month.

The chilled range was created to meet the increasing demand for convenient food options which add a higher protein content within snacking and main meal occasions.

The Gym Kitchen’s range includes four flavours, Tikka Shredded Chicken, BBQ Shredded Chicken, Hot Honey Ham and Chicken & Chorizo Meatballs, which each contain a minimum of 36g protein per serving, according to the business.

The Gym Kitchen founder, Segun Akinwoleola, said: “We are incredibly excited about The Gym Kitchen entering yet another new category and usage occasion.

“The versatility of our Ready-To-Eat Meats range supports evolving modern eating habits, where shoppers are increasingly building meals around protein rather than traditional meal formats – it’s the future of food, and we are leading the charge in the functional healthy eating space.”

The meats range were created to be consumed ready-to-eat straight from the pack or to be used as a topper or filler within salads and wraps.

This move is part of a wider new product development business strategy from The Gym Kitchen which aims to grow the brand’s proposition beyond traditional ready-to-eat meals into multiple categories.

The new products are available for a recommended retail price of £3.25 each.

This comes at a time when protein products have experienced rapidly increasing demand at supermarkets across the UK, which is pushing retailers to expand their range of high protein foods.
