Asda unveils own label matcha range
Asda has launched a private label matcha range as it taps into the popularity of the drink among younger consumers.
The supermarket retailer is rolling out the new matcha latte in two flavours, vanilla and blueberry.
This move aims to build on the online and social media traction around matcha, which has gained a significant presence over the past years.
Each package has been designed for convenient consumption with eight instant sachets which require water and ice for serving.

The new flavours are set to launch from 4 May online and in-store for £1.70 each, alongside a new range of coffee syrups, including Asda Vanilla Flavour Syrup for £2.50.
This comes as searches for ‘matcha’ have increased by 381 per cent on Asda week-on-week, leveraging the high consumer demand for the drink.
Additionally, the retailer is also set to launch the White Mocha Flavour Frappe for £2, the Salted Caramel Flavour Dusting for £0.97, and the Hazelnut Flavour Syrup priced at £2.50.
This new launch is part of the supermarket’s summer drink lines, which aim to offer shoppers a more affordable alternative to buying drinks from cafes.
