Aldi promises to deliver ‘cheapest Easter prices’ on grocery staples
Aldi’s CEO has made a pledge to offer the cheapest Easter dinner for shoppers across the UK, with low prices on essentials, including British Pork Loin Joint for £3.75 per kg.
The discount retailer is also offering affordable prices for British Prime Gammon Joints (£3.99 per kg) and Whole Legs of Lamb (£6.19 per kg).
Additionally, Aldi is planning to sell the lowest cost Easter vegetables, including carrots, parsnips and white potatoes.
Giles Hurley, CEO of Aldi, said: “We know Easter is a special time for families to come together and enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal.
“That’s why we’ve guaranteed our prices will be the cheapest across all our Easter favourites so shoppers can plan ahead with confidence.

“Easter is a time for families to gather around the table for a proper celebration, and no one should miss out on that because money’s tight.”
There has been a shift in consumer behaviour over the festive season, with more shoppers choosing home-cooked meals instead of going out to restaurants.
The retailer expects to sell over 200,000 units of dinner-essential centrepieces across the Easter weekend.
Aldi’s private label premium Specially Selected range sales have increased by 11 per cent in the past year as shoppers look for quality at home.
This comes as the retailer unveiled its hot cross bun range for Easter last week, with a number of unconventional combinations, including Village Bakery Mighty Cheesy Hot Cross Buns.
Alongside the new flavours, the discounter will also be stocking some of its popular variants such as the Village Bakery Fruited Hot Cross Buns.
