Plant-based drink brand Oddlygood is set to launch at Sainsbury’s from 15 March, which marks a significant step in its UK retail expansion.

The brand’s Barista Oat range will be available at the retailer and aims to recruit more consumers and drive sales as the plant-based drink category is slowly returning to growth at a 0.6 per cent increase.

The range includes the original and low-fat oat drink variants for £1.95 each and two flavoured variants, no-added-sugar Nutty Vanilla and Hazelnut, for £2.25, respectively.

Sam Maguire, country manager at Oddlygood Group, said: “Oddlygood is stepping up its UK ambitions with a clear goal: kick-starting the next phase of growth in plant-based drinks by bringing shoppers back into the category.

“Backed by strong R&D expertise, we’ve created an oat range that delivers barista-level quality and flavour-led innovation at an accessible price.

“While the category has faced some headwinds, we see a real opportunity to re-engage shoppers and increase penetration.”

According to Oddlygood’s group report, this caters to consumer demand, with 66 per cent of low plant-based drink users and 58 per cent of lapsed plant-based drink users being interested in trying different coffee flavours.

This launch builds on a successful performance across the wider Oddlygood Group, which delivered significant global growth of nearly 60 per cent year-on-year.

The Sainsbury’s expansion marks a key step in the brand’s mission to become Europe’s leading plant-based brand.
