Aldi reports rising demand for dine-in range ahead of Valentine’s Day

Aldi has seen demand for its premium Specially Selected range increase by 11%, as shoppers seek affordable dine-in options for Valentine’s Day.

The discounter has experienced a sales growth in its Valentine’s Day (14 February) range, which offers premium own-label meals such as the Specially Selected Heart Shaped Lobster Pasta and Black Cod in a Miso Glaze.

Aldi offers one of the cheapest supermarket Valentine’s Day deals, with prices starting at £5.97 for two, which is £2.99 per person.

Julie Ashfield, chief commercial officer at Aldi UK, said: “Valentine’s Day is a key moment for customers, and we’re seeing a trend of more people choosing to celebrate at home in ways that still feel thoughtful and special.

“Our Valentine’s range has been designed to make that easy, offering quality, value and everything customers need in one place to enjoy a memorable Valentine’s Day at home.”

Aldi also recently launched its dozen red roses on 11 February, priced at £3.45, which is one of the cheapest options at UK retailers.

The discounter expects to sell over 277,000 bouquets of flowers in the days leading up to Saturday, 14 February.
