Co-op further expanding store estate
Co-op will open 18 new or renovated stores in the first quarter of the year, as part of its commitment to enhancing the shopping experience in high streets.
The first locations which are reopening following a major upgrade include a convenience store in Eastern Green, Coventry, and a franchised site in Ealing, London.
Co-op’s stores will feature coffee, bakeries, Fairtrade products, fresh produce and additional resources such as payment services, parcel collection and returns and online home grocery deliveries.

The convenience retailer will be running offers and promotions throughout the stores for all, and the loyalty programme will be available for Co-op members to save more with discounted prices.
This move is part of Co-op’s plan to back British high streets, recently opening the first new store of 2026 to serve the neighbourhood development of Willowbrook Park, Didcot (Oxfordshire).
Kate McCrae, Co-op operations director, said: “We’re focused on creating local stores which are more than just a shop – they are a hub locally that contributes to local life and conveniently meets the needs of communities.
“Our stores have a focus on quality products and value for our members and customers, with a great range of deals and promotions on the items shoppers want to buy.”
