Asda has launched protein ‘power pot’ ready meals for shoppers who want healthy, convenient food without preparation.

The range includes curated dishes which have been formulated to be high in protein and contain at least 80g of fruit or vegetables per 250g meal, said the retailer.

Asda’s private-label healthy ready meal sales increased by 54% year-over-year as consumers are looking to begin their fitness journey in January and are seeking more portion-controlled meal options.

Consumers can choose between four different flavours priced at £2.50 per 250g pot, including Creamy Chicken Korma, Thai Green Chicken Curry, Chicken Chow Mein and Chicken & Mediterranean Style Vegetable Pasta. The meal offers are now available in stores and online.

The move is part of the retailer’s commitment to making healthier choices accessible to all customers and aligns with its ‘Live Better’ mission.

Asda’s recent launch comes as many supermarkets have been expanding their protein food range during the New Year.
