Tesco announces Mistral AI partnership
Tesco has entered a partnership with French start-up Mistral AI to increase the use of artificial intelligence (AI) across its operations.
The retailer plans to use the company’s AI models to improve different parts of its business, with a goal of enhancing its wider operations.
As part of the agreement, Tesco and Mistral will work on improving content development and document drafting, speeding up data analysis and creating new ways for colleagues to access information.
Tesco Data, analytics & AI director, Ruben Lara Hernandez said: “By bringing together our retail expertise and Mistral AI’s cutting-edge technology, we hope this partnership could ultimately save colleagues time, improve how we do things and help us to better serve our customers.

“Innovation has always been part of Tesco’s DNA, and this agreement builds on our extensive track record in developing new technology and AI solutions in ways that ultimately benefit our customers, colleagues and suppliers.”
The two companies will collaborate through a joint “AI lab” where technology experts will come up with generative artificial intelligence solutions for the business.
Tesco has been investing in technology to improve the company experience and is already using AI in-store and with its partners.
