Kraft Heinz appoints former Kellanova boss as CEO

Kraft Heinz has named former Kellanova boss Steve Cahillane as the new CEO of the company, effective on 1 January 2026.

He will also join the board of directors and serve as the CEO of Global Taste Elevation after the separation of Kraft Heinz’s brands.

The current CEO, Carlos Abrams-Rivera, will depart from the role on 1 January and remain in an advisory position to ensure a smooth transition.

Cahillane was previously the chairman, president and CEO of FMCG giant Kellanova until its recent acquisition by Mars.

“I am honoured to be joining Kraft Heinz as CEO at such a pivotal and exciting time,” he said.

“I’m confident the planned separation will accelerate the company’s ability to compete and win in today’s environment and unlock the immense opportunity in front of us. I’m looking forward to working with the team to write this exciting next chapter together.”

In his previous role of CEO of Kellanova, he oversaw operations for a portfolio of brands, including Pringles, Cheez-It, Pop-Tarts and Kellogg’s.

Additionally, Cahilline managed the company through the demerger of its North American cereal business and the launch of the rebranded Kellanova.

He has also held senior executive positions at the Coca-Cola Company and AB InBev.

As part of the leadership changes, John Cahill, vice chair of Kraft Heinz’s board, will take on the role of board chair.
