Co-op expands on-the-go stores with new London opening
Co-op has opened the doors to a new ‘on-the-go’ format store in Kingston upon Thames, which marks the first smaller format shop in London.
The new convenience store is opening in Clarence Street, Kingston, and will offer customers breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as meal deals and over-the-counter coffee.
This is Co-op’s fourth new concept store, which is part of the retailer’s push towards opening the new chain of stores in high-footfall locations.
Co-op recently opened on-the-go stores in Altrincham’s Stamford Quarter, Aylesbury and Solihull High Street.
Jane Wells, Co-op area operations manager, said: “The whole team is excited to launch our new concept store in Kingston, where we are really looking forward to being part of the vibrant community and welcoming members and customers into their new Co-op store.

“Differing from our traditional convenience stores, whether working, shopping or socialising in the high street area, our new store is here to offer breakfast, lunch or dinner on the go.”
The new 550 sq ft store will be open between 7am and 7pm and aims to meet the growing consumer demand for high-quality food-on-the-go meals.
Additionally, there is a seating and charging area which serves hot noodles, bakery goods, pastries and essentials.
This is part of Co-op’s 50 new and refurbished stores which are set to open in November and December before Christmas.
Last week the convenience store retailer opened a record 11 stores in one week.
