Aldi has launched a new festive hamper delivery giveaway competition which allows shoppers to nominate people to receive a surprise gift hamper.

The move aims to reward shoppers and reinstates Aldi’s commitment to giving back during the festive season, recently opening applications for its Christmas donation scheme.

Rachel Geary, communications director at Aldi UK, said: “Christmas is a time for kindness, generosity and community. Through our hamper delivery service, we want to help our shoppers surprise the people who make a real difference in their lives and spread a little extra joy this festive season.

“So, whether it is a local hero, an unsung volunteer or a loved one who deserves a smile, we want to help our shoppers make sure Christmas feels special for everyone.”

As part of the scheme, shoppers will be able to email their name, country of residence and motive for the nominee to win by 9 December to the discounter’s email.

The retailer is set to review the nominations and will choose 10 winners to receive a gift hamper with seasonal products ahead of Christmas.

Recently, Aldi also launched a Winter Fund to help support local charities across the UK during the winter period.
