Asda has announced a partnership with Evri to launch ParcelShops at the retailer’s stores across the UK.

The new deal will allow customers to collect and return parcels from multiple retailers the Asda supermarkets.

This move was made to increase convenience and improve the number of services which are available at Asda.

Chris Hall, vice president, logistics at Asda, said: “One of the things that sets Asda apart is our unmatchable mix of services, so we’re delighted to be partnering with Evri to be able to launch a brand-new one just in time for the festive season.

“We know how much our customers value convenience, and this service gives them the flexibility to collect or return an Evri parcel whether they’re popping in for a pint of milk in one of our Express stores or doing their big shop in one of our larger stores.”

The service is available in over 300 Asda store locations and will be phased out to all 1,200 supermarkets by April next year.

Martijn de Lange, chief executive at Evri, added: “This landmark agreement with fellow Leeds-based Asda strengthens our commitment to creating a delivery network fit for the modern UK shopper, directly giving them choice, convenience and control.

“We are excited about the opportunities this new partnership will bring, helping to us further drive our ambition to expand our capabilities and deliver an even more comprehensive, cost-effective, and customer-focused service across the UK and beyond.”

Asda is also opening nine new stores this week as part of its goal to bolster its presence in high-footfall areas.
