The Compleat Food Group acquires chilled food company Freshpak
The Compleat Food Group announced its acquisition of Freshpak, which is a private label manufacturer that produces sandwich fillings, egg products and chilled ready-to-eat snacks, for an undisclosed amount.
The deal is part of Compleat Food Group’s business strategy to expand its footprint and achieve the position of the top chilled food company in the UK.
Nick Field, CEO at The Compleat Food Group, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Freshpak to The Compleat Food Group.
“Its market-leading position in added-value egg products, deli fillers and chilled food-to-go is a perfect complement to our existing portfolio, allowing us to extend our capability and category leadership role to deliver further value and category growth with our existing partners, whilst also opening up new opportunities in both retail and foodservice.”

Freshpak currently runs a strong business operation with revenues of around £93 million in 2024 and is a supplier for major supermarkets in the UK, including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons, and Co-op.
The new acquisition will allow Compleat Food Group to leverage Freshpak’s egg processing business and add on to its deli business with its variety of sandwich fillings.
Toby Brinsmead, CEO of Freshpak, added: “Freshpak has built a strong reputation for quality, innovation and customer service. Joining The Compleat Food Group marks an exciting new chapter for the business, and I’m confident that under the Group’s ownership, Freshpak will continue to thrive and grow.”
Compleat Food Group has been expanding its brand portfolio, previously acquiring SK Foods and Zorba Foods and Harvey & Brockless in 2024. Additionally, it bought The Real Yorkshire Pudding Co earlier this year.
The news comes on the heels of a rising trend in acquisitions across the food sector, with Ferrero acquiring WK Kellogg and New Prices acquiring Kraft Heinz’s baby food business.
