Egg processing company Hardeman Egg Group has acquired Bumble Hole Foods, its Worcestershire-based rival, in a move that aims to create a stronger single entity. Bumble Hole Foods is a key UK producer in the egg product market and brings in a wide range of egg-based produce.

Andrew Hewston and Sharon Jones, the owners of Bumble Hole Foods, are set to leave the company once the acquisition is completed.

Andrew Hewston said: “This business has been an integral part of our family’s life for many years, and what started as a vision has grown into a reality thanks to the dedication of our team and the loyalty of our customers and suppliers.

“As the industry shifts – particularly with the move towards cage-free production, where Hardeman leads – we’re confident this is the right step to secure a sustainable and successful future for the business.”

Managing director Simon Bennett will remain with the company and ensure a smooth transition following the acquisition by Hardeman Egg Group.

Tonne Gielen, chief executive of The Hardeman Egg Group, added: “By combining our expertise, resources, and commitment to excellence, we are better positioned to deliver value, drive innovation, and serve our customers more effectively.

“Each business brings unique strengths, and together we are more agile, resilient, and ready to lead in a rapidly evolving market.”

The new deal will grow the Dutch-founded Hardeman Egg Group’s presence in the UK industry as it can leverage Bumble Hole Foods’ network of customers and suppliers.
