Asda is to launch its largest Rollback campaign in years, as new chairman Allan Leighton aims to lead the supermarket’s price-cut revival amid fierce market competition.

The supermarket giant is set to unveil a new advertising campaign, offering major price cuts for products both in-store and online, The Grocer reported.

Retail expert Steve Dresser took to X to post photos revealing preparations for the new Rollback campaign, understood to be launching next week.

The new initiative comes mere weeks after Asda kick-started the year with its ‘Big Jan Price Drop,’ , which saw reductions in prices of an average 26% across selected products.

However, the campaign was mocked by Tesco CEO Ken Murphy at its trading call update, for reportedly failing to represent a genuine price war.

The new Rollback campaign forms part of Leighton’s mission to turn around the struggling supermarket and arrest the decline in sales, following its dampened performance over the Christmas period.

Last week, Asda strengthened its leadership team with a raft of new senior appointments as part of its mission to “satisfy the daily and weekly shopping needs of ordinary working people who demand value”.

Tesco clubcard value is the same as Asda value without the need of a clubcard. Tesco are thieving gits, they hike up prices for those who don’t have their clubcard, it’s total BS cheeky to laugh at any other retailer.

Asda Wrexham is a dirty establishment. I won’t shop there. The prices are far too high considering the competition surrounding them.

I completely agree with you. We know food is already expensive for everyday essentials but when you have cats or dogs then the prices are certainly not cheap in fact they are expensive that sometimes we go without to make sure our animals are fed. So please think about this Asda when doing your so called rollback think of the essentials customers buy as well as dog and cat food.

Pointless dropping prices if you have no staff to put the items on the shelf. Hire more staff.
