Some Ocado orders have arrived to shoppers doors missing essential Christmas food items following a malfunction at one of the online supermarket’s Customer Fulfilment Centre’s (CFC).

Some customers said their orders were missing chilled and frozen products, with others claiming to be without dozens of items, Mail Online reported.

One X (formerly Twitter) user commented earlier today (23 December): “My delivery isn’t due for another 30 minutes or so, and I can see 7 items are already missing from my order. You encouraged us to place our Christmas orders 3 months ago, you’ve charged me £9.99 to deliver some of the items I’ve ordered. Pathetic!”

Another said: “Well @Ocado you’ve properly let yourself down. Over 30 items, all of our chilled Xmas food is not arriving… How can you trust online delivery if you can’t even make Christmas?! Disgraceful.”

It is understood that the issues took place at the grocer’s Erith CFC, which handles around 200,000 orders per week.

An Ocado spokesperson told Mail Online: “We are aware that a small proportion of orders were not delivered as expected.

“This does not meet our usual high standards and we understand the inconvenience this will have caused, especially at this time of year. We are proactively reaching out to apologise to those affected.”

It comes as Morrisons apologised to customers after some were unable to access discounts on their Christmas shopping today due to issues with the More Card loyalty system, while others experienced delayed online orders during the festive rush, with click and collect services affected most.
