Asda poaches Morrisons and M&S execs to boost senior team
Asda has bolstered its senior leadership team with two new appointments in a bid get back to growth.
The supermarket giant has snapped Morrisons group supply chain director Lauren Lepley as its new vice president of central operations, who is set to join Asda in early December, and M&S group asset protection director Mark Henry will lead as its new vice president of retail south from January.
Henry will have responsibility for the supermarket’s southern store operations, following over 25 years of operational experience, including at Lidl.

The two new hires will both report to Asda’s new chief operations officer Matt Heslop who is set to join the business in January.
Chairman Lord Rose said: “We are very pleased to welcome Lauren and Mark to Asda. They both bring a wealth of retail experience and proven track records in delivering operational excellence.
“This will be invaluable as we strengthen our business and deliver our long-term growth ambitions.”
The news follows co-owner Mohsin Issa stepping back from his role leading the supermarket last month, with Rose taking over his executive responsibilities alongside majority shareholder TDR Capital’s partner Rob Hattrell.
The appointments build upon recent senior hires, such as Iceland Foods former group buying director Andrew Staniland and former vice president of ecommerce David Devaney who will both join Asda next year.
