Tesco is launching a limited-edition ham, egg and chips sandwich, adding a twist to the iconic British combo to its Clubcard Meal Deal offer.
The product features beechwood smoked ham with egg mayonnaise, salt and vinegar string fries and tomato ketchup on white bread and will be available for £3 in all stores.
While the sandwich is initially launching as a limited-edition option, Tesco has said that if it proves popular, it will be made a permanent addition.

Tesco food developer and sandwich creator Sarah Byer said: “We think the ham, egg and chips sandwich could go on to become a breakfast classic especially for those who need to grab a bite while on the go.
“We know how well loved the chip butty is with the nation, plus we have seen a massive surge of people admitting their guilty pleasure of a crisp sandwich on social media, combined with British pub favourite ham, egg and chips.”
It’s not the first time the grocer has produced unique lunchtime snacks, having previously launched a lasagne sandwich, paella sandwich, and the UK’s first ever commercially made sweet banana and chocolate sandwich.
The ham, egg and chips meal deal offer is part of a new range highlighting global cuisine, with other sandwiches including an Asian-inspired miso chicken and pickled slaw, Mexican-style chicken tinga, Finest pulled teriyaki chicken and spicy sriracha aioli, a buffalo chicken and blue cheese wrap, a chicken ranch wrap, and a Korean-inspired spicy gochujang chicken sub.
