Tropicana looks to steal private label share with new ambient ranges

Tropicana has launched two new ambient ranges exclusively in Tesco to drive category value growth and make trading up into brand from private label more accessible.

The Rise & Shine range is available in 850ml cartons at RRP £2, while the Fruit Sensation range is available in 1L bottles at RRP £1.75.

Tropicana brands group’s Elizabeth Ashdown said: “Until now, the ambient juice category has been highly private label driven with a lack of quality juice options for consumers.

“These new launches will positively expand the ambient juice category by better meeting consumer needs for more natural and healthier refreshment throughout the day and will set a new quality benchmark in juice drinks.”

The Rise & Shine range, which is available in smooth orange and pressed apple, also looks to address the concern that sugar consumption ranks as the second highest barrier to purchase for consumers, with the new products containing 30% less sugar than other juices.

Tropicana’s new Fruit Sensation range looks to appeal to younger consumers with flavours including apple, cucumber and lemon with elderflower, orange and mango with yuzu, and peach and raspberry with vanilla.

It follows on from the beverage giant’s product launch last September, as it expanded into the smoothie category with ‘Tropicana Kids’.
