Fairfields Farm Crisps bolsters board to accelerate 2024 growth plans

Fairfields Farm has appointed former Burts Snacks managing director David Nairn as a non-executive director and promoted Tash Jones to commercial director as it plans for growth in 2024.

Nairn previously spent 15 years at Burts Snacks as chairman and managing director until 2020, and as a non-executive director until last year.

The fast-growing UK crisp producer said his appointment aligns with its growth ambitions, with business turnover having grown 56% between 2022 and 2023.

Nairn said: “I have been working in the snack category for a long time and certainly admired Fairfields Farm from afar.

“It’s a good, solid business with an exciting strategy and strong core values, so I feel extremely privileged to be joining the team.”

Fairfields Farm head of marketing and NPD Tash Jones has also joined the board, having been promoted to commercial director where she will oversee sales and marketing.

Jones first joined the business in April 2021 and previously held marketing roles at crisp manufacturer Kettle Chips.

Speaking of the promotion, she said: “I’ve been a fan of the brand and business for the longest time, so it’s an absolute honour to be given the opportunity to lead a talented sales and marketing team and continue our work of providing a fantastic service to our customers.”

Fairfields Farm co-founder Robert Strathern added: “I’d like to welcome David to the team, and I’m confident that his considerable experience and expertise in the fast-growing snacks business will help us to achieve our growth goals here at Fairfields Farm.

“The board has big upcoming ideas and plans, and Tash has already proven herself to be an asset. She will certainly play a key role in helping us to develop the business, particularly at a time when we are accelerating at such a rapid pace.”
