M&S café has returned to default whole dairy milk in its coffees, as the full-fat milk sector experiences a resurgence in popularity.
Customers at the retailer’s cafés will now have to specifically request semi-skimmed or skimmed if they don’t want full-fat dairy milk in their drinks – the same as those who want plant-based alternatives, reported The Telegraph.
The move follows months-long trials in which M&S experimented with the default whole milk option for “smoother, creamier coffee”.

The whole milk sector is undergoing a revival as younger milk drinkers have reembraced the full-fat dairy product.
Survey data from Waitrose found a third of people had switched from lower-fat to full-fat in 2023, with those under 35 most likely to have made the switch.
Figures from the grocer also show that the sale of whole milk has risen 2% over the last three months.
It is not the first change M&S has made at its cafés. Last year, it launched new 100% paper fibre coffee cups, while earlier this year it introduced new recyclable paper packaging across its sandwiches and toasties.
