Co-op has launched in-app member pricing for shoppers using the Uber Eats app, marking a first for UK supermarkets.

The convenience retailer will now have 250 products on the rapid delivery app where shoppers can enter their membership number at checkout and receive exclusive pricing, reported The Grocer.

Co-op ecommerce director Chris Conway said: “Growing and innovating our online channels is a fundamental part of our approach, and our members are at the heart of our business.

“Co-op membership is a different way of doing business, and by working with Uber Eats in this way we can provide greater financial benefits to our members, who own our business, through lower prices and savings across an extensive choice of everyday groceries.”

The new initiative follows Co-op partnering with Uber Eats in 2022, with now almost 1,000 of the grocer’s products available on the site.

The new addition to the platform also comes after it emerged that the convenience chain was replacing its reward scheme with a “significantly increased” range of member-exclusive prices and deals.
