Aldi launches recipe page to encourage varied meals

News

Aldi has launched a new recipe page to encourage shoppers to adopt a varied five-a-day produce to their weekly shop.

The discount supermarket has compiled a set of recipes to inspire customers to create more “exciting” ideas for mealtimes.

The new initiative was prompted by a poll of 2,000 shoppers commissioned by Aldi, which found that 43% of customers felt they were “stuck in a rut”.

A further 37% of shoppers stated that buying the same produce each week was a ‘force of habit’, while 35% said they are simply more comfortable cooking with familiar items.

Aldi managing director of buying Julie Ashfield said: “It is easy to get stuck in a rut when it comes to our regular food shop, which is why many people choose to opt for the same produce time and time again.

“At Aldi, we are all about making healthy and varied diets affordable for all, with a large range of high-quality produce available in our stores at the lowest possible prices.

“With our simple and low-cost recipes, we hope to inspire customers to change up their usual five-a-day, whilst also incorporating a number of homegrown produce into their meals.”

The new initiative follows rival supermarket Asda launching a new healthy range earlier this year.
