Premier Foods and FareShare expand ‘Win a Dinner, Give a Dinner’ promotion

News

Premier Foods is launching its biggest ever ‘Win a Dinner, Give a Dinner’ promotion in support of FareShare as the competition expands to all major retailers across the UK.

For the third year running, the on-pack promotion will offer shoppers the chance to win a £10 food voucher for a retailer of their choice and for every prize claimed, a matching £10 donation will be made to the food redistribution charity.

The promotion is a no purchase necessary campaign appearing on a higher number of Premier Foods brands than ever before, with a total of eleven featured including Abrosia, Angel Delight, Bird’s, Bisto, Homepride, Loyd Grossman, McDougalls, Mr Kipling, OXO, Paxo and Sharwood’s.

The promotion ran exclusively at Tesco in its first two years and donated enough money to support FareShare in its redistribution of over 300,000 meals, however it will now be on the shelves of more retailers as it targets providing 420,000 meals.

The promotion will be live in-stores until March, with consumers able to claim prizes until the end of October.

Premier Foods chief customer officer Richard Martin said: “We know consumers appreciate the chance to win something for themselves but also support those dealing with food insecurity, and this promotion is also a powerful way of educating people about the work of FareShare.

“Tesco has been an amazing partner for our first two years, and we’re excited to be taking this opportunity onto the shelves of every major retailer, so more shoppers have a chance to win and make a difference.”

FareShare director of fundraising Polly Bianchi added: “The donations made to FareShare from this initiative will help us get good-to-eat food, which might otherwise go to waste, to people who need it.

“Our network of 8,500 local charities across the UK are all working harder than ever to support people facing food insecurity and loneliness. Premier Foods’ generous support for FareShare – both through donations and time volunteered – makes a huge difference to our mission to get food to people who need it, rather than to waste.”
