Morrisons to roll out Zizzi-branded frozen bays

Morrisons is to launch new Zizzi-branded frozen bays, featuring 17 products across main meals, side dishes and desserts.

The move, which has been described as Morrisons “biggest frozen range change since 2019,” will see the bays rolled out to 208 stores on 8 January, The Grocer reported.

Six products will be exclusive to the supermarket giant, such as Chicken and Mushroom Risotto, Bucantini Meatballs, Chicken and Fiery Pepper Pizza, Goat’s Cheese and Caramelised Onion Pizza, Calzone Carne Piccante and Garlic Soul Breads.

There will be a total of six pasta dishes and five pizzas available in the range, alongside desserts including Salted Caramel Brownies and a Raspberry and Lemon cheesecake – both of which will also be exclusive to Morrisons.

All products will initially be available on a promotional offer of two mains, a side and dessert for £10.

Zizzi said that by introducing branded bays into Morrisons stores, it will be “easier for customers to choose their mains, side and dessert for the whole family in one go.”

Morrisons frozen category director Tessa Ward told the publication: “We’re excited to partner with Zizzi to launch its frozen shop, which offers so much quality and choice for our customers.

“This is our biggest frozen range change since 2019, and we’re sure it will be a hit with our customers.”

This comes as Morrisons has locked the prices of over 1,000 items, marking the second year in a row that the supermarket giant has frozen the price of thousands of products in January.

The campaign will run for the next eight weeks across items such as whole cucumbers, salad tomatoes and iceberg lettuce.
