Lidl is predicting that the quietest period to shop in-store in the run up to Christmas is between 8am and 10am or 6pm onwards.
The discounter said that according to data from last year, its busiest times in store were around midday, with the highest level of footfall recorded between 12pm and 2pm.
Friday 22 December, which is traditionally the highest footfall day over the Christmas period, is expected to once again be the busiest day.
To help shoppers choose when to shop over the coming weeks, the Lidl Plus app will show real-time updates on how busy a chosen store is at any given time.
