Ocado cuts prices for third time since June

Ocado has reduced prices on a further 330 items as part of its Big Price Drop, marking the third price cut since June.

The total number of reductions now stands at more than 630 products, with the most recent additions including Warburtons plain bagels, M&S Oakham Gold chicken breast fillets, its Ripen At Home Conference pears and McCain frozen hash browns.

Non-food items such as Vanish Oxi Actions fabric stain remover will also be reduced in price by 38% to £4, down from £6.50.

This comes as the online-only grocer sold almost 70 tonnes of Warburtons Plain bagels and over four million Ocado own-brand pears last year.

The move also follows price cuts on 100 items in June and the first wave of the Big Price Drop that was launched last month across 200 ‘back to school’ products.

Ocado Retail CEO Hannah Gibson said: “Ocado is more committed than ever to delivering great value. We’re proud to have reduced more than 600 products, but we’re not stopping there.

“We’re working hard to add even more items to the Big Price Drop so that alongside our amazing service and unbeatable choice, our customers are getting reassuringly good value too through competitive prices and Ocado Price Promise.”
