Aldi lowers price of fruit and vegetable staples

Aldi has lowered the prices on a selection of fruit and vegetable products in its Everyday Essentials range.

This week, shoppers at the German discounter will see lower prices on items including strawberries, tomatoes, potatoes and spinach.

Fruit and veg items in Aldi’s Everyday Essentials range are included in the latest price drop, which has seen items fall by an average of around 9%.

For example, Aldi strawberries (400g) were £1.89 and are now £1.75, while baking potatoes (2.5kg) were £1.69 and are now £1.59, among other price drops.

The move is the latest of more than 100 prices that Aldi has slashed in the past two months.

Earlier this month, Aldi has cut the prices of more than 30 household products across its grocery range, which includes apples, oranges and peaches.
