Tesco launches latest round of price cuts

Tesco has launched a new round of price cuts across more than 50 products as it looks to pass savings onto customers.

A quarter of the price reductions will include products in the baby aisle, such as Pampers nappies, which have been cut by 16%, as well as Johnson’s baby shampoo and Florence and Fred cotton buds.

Own-brand items including six packs of Tesco yoghurt drinks, garlic mayo and Kind and Pure facial cleansing wipes will also see cuts of up to 19%.

This follows the leading retailer’s move to cut the price of more than 500 household essentials in June on products including Tesco tinned tuna, peppers, cheddar, grapes, rice, frozen fruit, orange juice and bin bags.

Tesco chief product officer Ashwin Prasad said: “We know that household budgets remain under pressure, and so I am pleased to announce price cuts across a further range of products, including key products that are popular with young families.

“This latest round of price cuts is just another sign of our commitment to pass on savings to our customers wherever we are able, and we will continue to work with our suppliers to bring down prices on the items that our customers put in their trolley or basket week-in, week-out.”
