Ocado Group appoints first Ocado Solutions president

Ocado has appointed Gregor Ulitzka as its first president for Ocado Solutions Europe to lead operations across the region.

In his new role, Ulitzka will grow the company’s relationships with current partners and bring new retailers to the Ocado Smart Platform (OSP).

He joins the online retailer from Amazon, where he worked for over 10 years, most recently as director of supply chain and inventory management for Europe.

Ulitzka was responsible for leading global supply chain, product management and business development teams.

He previously spent 13 years at German grocer, Metro, in European management roles.

Ocado Soultions CEO, Luke Jensen, said: “As we strengthen our position for this crucial next phase of growth, I’m excited to bring Gregor’s expertise as a renowned leader in both grocery and the wider logistics sector to our partnerships in Europe.”

Ulitzka added that the firm has solved “some of the most intractable and longest-standing challenges facing logistics and retail businesses”, saying he is “thrilled to join this innovation powerhouse”.
