Aldi’s Next Big Thing winner returns to stores with Yorkshire Pudding beer

Aldi’s Next Big Thing winner, Malton Brewery, has revealed that it’s Yorkshire Pudding beer will be returning to stores across the UK.

Back on the German discounter’s shelves from 25 May, it was the supermarket’s fastest selling product last year – selling out within a week of being put in stores.

The brewery hit headlines after is became one of the winners of Channel 4’s ‘Aldi’s Next Big Thing’ – a TV series which gave small businesses a chance to be listed on Aldi shelves nationwide.

At the time, Father and son duo Harry and Howard Kinder impressed managing director of buying at Aldi UK, Julie Ashfield, who described it as “deliciously creamy”.

The Yorkshire pudding beer (500ml) will be sold for £1.75.

The launch comes as Aldi’s Next Big Thing is set to return for a second series this year – and is currently taking applications.

Additionally, another winner from the show, Freddie’s Farm, was returned to Aldi shelves after securing its second large order with the retailer.

“The innovation behind Malton Brewery’s Yorkshire Pudding Beer is outstanding. Shoppers absolutely loved its unique taste, so it’s only right that we return it to stores,” Julie Ashfield said.

Howard Kinder, of Malton Brewery and creator of the Yorkshire Pudding Beer, commented: “Appearing on the show was absolutely life changing.

“Not only did we land our biggest ever contract, supplying one of the nation’s favourite supermarkets, but orders also went through the roof. It catapulted us into a whole new chapter.”
