Spar’s trading director Chris Lewis has exited the business after 23 years.
According to the symbol group, he has been “an important part of Spar’s recent history and we wish him continued success for the future,” managing director Louise Hoste said.

During Lewis’ time as trading director, Chris Lewis worked on several projects with the main board, including a new purchasing strategy.
Lewis helped grow the brand in recent years. In December, it reported a 9% increase in sales, claiming a “positive trading period” which followed on from a 19% rise in 2021.
Hoste said that Spar would now review its organisational structure and “recruit accordingly”.
