Tesco to increase minimum spend for home-delivery orders
Tesco has revealed it is increasing the minimum spend that customers have to reach for home-delivery orders.
From 2 May, shoppers at the UK’s largest retailer must spend a minimum of £50, up from £40.
It is also increasing the basket charge for those that don’t mean the minimum spend. If they don’t, they’ll be charged a £5 fee – a charge which is currently £4.
However, the minimum spend for click and collect will remain at £25 across all stores.

In comparison, second largest retailer Sainsbury’s requires a minimum spend of £40 or shoppers will incur a £7 fee. For Asda, customers need to spend £40 too, but they’ll only be charged £3 if below the £40 threshold.
A Tesco spokesperson said: “To ensure we can continue to serve our online customers as effectively as possible, from May 2 we are making some changes to our minimum basket threshold, the first change we are making in nearly eight years.
“For the vast majority of our customers, there will be no change to the way they shop.”
The news comes as Tesco has exceeded targets for the rollout of its rapid delivery service Whoosh, as it is now officially available in 1,000 Express stores in the UK.
However, the supermarket chain is reducing the value of Clubcard vouchers spent with reward partners. From 14 June, Clubcard vouchers will only be worth two times their previous value when exchanged at any of its reward partners.

i am a pensioner and live on my own so i will have to find another way to shop i can not afford to buy £50 at a time so good by tesco
Nothing for it I will have to change my shop store.I only usually spend £45.
Snap we spend 40 a week so will just go back to shopping in store
