CBD drinks brand TRIP reports 800% sales spike

CBD drinks brand, TRIP has reported an 800% increase in sales throughout January across supermarket giants including Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and Ocado.

The sales spike comes as around nine million people planned on participating in 2023’s Dry January, according to Alcohol Change UK, with the brand’s CBD infused drinks offering a calming alternative to alcohol.

TRIP also saw demand for its products increase through social media content, with 30 million impressions on TikTok and Instagram last month.

The brands product range includes canned drinks in flavours elderflower mint, peach ginger, lemon basil and cold-brew coffee as well as a variety of oils, with both winning in different categories at the Product of the Year awards.

TRIP founder Olivia Ferdi said January’s figures are “a special milestone for TRIP and our missions, helping destigmatise converstaions about mental wellbeing, and reworking misconceptions about CBD to help millions prioritise their stress.”

Also available via Boots, Holland and Barrett, Selfridegs, Harrods and foodservice chains The Ivy, Brewdog pubs and Leon, this news comes as the company saw year on year sales growth of 500% in the first half of 2022.
