Barratt Favourites has been recognised as one of the UK’s most innovative new products by Product of the Year 2023 for its sustainable sharing tub.
Launched in September last year, the new 500g Barratt Favourites tub by the confectionary brand has secured listings with major retailers Morrisons and Sainsbury’s.
Filled with some of the nation’s favourite sweets, the tub is made from 85 per cent less plastic than previous Barratt tubs and is suitable for household recycling – including its translucent plastic lid, which has been manufactured using 30% recycled plastic.

The tub itself contains a mix of some of Britain’s best loved sweet including Dip Dabs, Wham, Fruit Salad & Black Jack chews, Highland Toffee, Refreshers rolls, Shrimps & Bananas and Fruit Salad lollies.
It initially proved to be a hit with consumers looking for an environmentally-friendly confectionery product, suited for key sharing occasions, like Halloween when a significant number of Favourites Tubs were sold.
As the biggest and most comprehensive study of product innovation in the UK, now in its 19th year, the Product of the Year Awards provide a unique platform to celebrate the products we use every day that are often underappreciated.
The research to inform the awards has been independently conducted in association with the world’s leading data and insights company, Kantar.
Barrat will now feature the iconic red Product of the Year logo – a recognisable symbol of product excellence.
“It’s brilliant to see Barratt Favourites recognised by Product of the Year – it’s an award that really means a lot to us as it’s voted for by thousands of consumers across the UK,” marketing director at Barratt’s parent company Valeo Snackfoods Russell Tanner said.
“The sustainability of our products and operations is a key part of our business strategy and we know that it’s very important to our consumers as well.
He added: “That’s why we invested in creating an innovative new eco-friendly format for Barratt Favourites tub and it’s really pleasing to see these efforts recognised with such a high-profile accolade.”
Valeo Snackfoods, the parent company of confectionary brand Barratt, launched its new HFSS compliant Flumps marshmallows last year.
