Asda extends in-app voucher spending periods

Asda has added a new feature to its Asda Rewards loyalty app to give customers more time to spend their Cashpots.

The Big 4 grocer is extending the period that shoppers have to spend a voucher after creating it in the app from one to three months.

As a result, customers who like to build up their Cashpots for special occasions will have longer to use the voucher.

Asda is also reminding shoppers that any unused cash in their Cashpots that is yet to be converted into vouchers will expire six months after the month the cash was earned, with app users receiving notifications to remind them of this each month.

“We know that many Asda Rewards customers like to save up their Cashpots to spend at special occasions,” Asda senior director of loyalty, Mark Baxter said.

“This change means they now have longer to use their rewards and importantly can build up even larger amounts to use whenever they choose.”

In a bid to help shoppers spend their money more wisely during the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, Asda has also extended its saver offerings, including its ‘Just Essentials’ budget meal plan that promises to feed a family of four for under £20 a week.

Earlier this month, the supermarket giant also extended its ‘Kids Eat for £1’ and ‘Winter Warmers’ deals into 2023, with the £1 offer for kids available until the end of March with no minimum adult spend, and the same extension added to the £1 ‘soup and roll’ deal for over 60’s which is on offer alongside unlimited tea and coffee.
