Co-op has appointed Kenyatte Nelson as its chief membership and customer officer to run membership, marketing and brand strategies.
Taking up the new role and joining the convenience retailers operating board this month, Nelson will also be tasked with supporting its precense at UK music festivals and the naming rights partnership with Co-op Live.
Having worked in the marketing industry for more than 20 years, Nelson is currently a non-executive director of the British Retail Consortium and a former chief brand officer at clothing retailer N Brown Group.

Previously, Nelson also managed national and international marketing for major brands at Procter and Gamble, had leading roles at Shop Direct and was Missguided’s chief customer officer in 2018.
“Kenyatte brings with him a huge amount of marketing, digital, customer and brand experience – he will be a huge asset to our Co-op Group, as he leads our membership, marketing and customer activity and we are delighted to have him join our operating board,” Co-op CEO Shirine Khoury-Haq said.
