Asda launches home delivery service on Christmas Eve for the first time

Asda is set to offer its home delivery service on Christmas Eve for the first time in a bid to help its customers shop for any last-minute essentials.

Available across all 633 of the Big 4 grocers stores, the service’s last slot will be between 3pm and 4pm.

Also looking to prepare its shoppers for post-Christmas celebrations on Boxing Day and New Years Day, Asda will also be operating its home delivery service on these days at a select number of its stores.

This comes as the supermarket giant is opening its home delivery, as well as its click and collect slots for the festive season from tomorrow (18 October) for its customers with a Delivery Pass.

For all other shoppers, slots can be booked in from 25 October for the week before Christmas.

“Many customers are already planning for the big day as we are seeing thousands of festive-related searches on,” Asda senior vice president of e-commerce, Simon Gregg said.

“To help them get a head start with preparations, we’re releasing our delivery slots earlier this year and have more slots available than ever before during the week before Christmas. With over a million slots available, including deliveries on Christmas Eve for the first time, we’re confident customers will be able to secure their preferred delivery slot.”

This comes as many other leading retailers across the UK, from Sainsbury’s to Ocado, are also looking to prepare shoppers for the festive season by opening home delivery and click and collect slots this month.
