Club Soda partners with DIT to boost no and low beverage exports

Club Soda has launched a partnership with the Department for International Trade (DIT) in a bid to boost the UK’s no and low beverage industry.

This comes following research by the mindful drinking movement which found the sector has a potential market of 25 million people as 49% of UK adults are not drinking alcohol or planning to cut down soon.

Looking to ensure UK brands are engaged with access to support for export and are able to build trust with international retailers and key distributors, Club Soda and DIT have put together a four-point project.

To find out the interest in overseas trade, current activity and where more support can be provided, the first part of the initiative will see brand’s across the UK able to complete a survey to share these details with Club Soda and DIT.

On 26 October, an interactive brand round table will take place to help its attendees learn more about export opportunities and how to address obstacles.

Chaired by Club Soda’s founder, Laura Willoughby MBE as well as DIT, it will also act as a space for brands to ask questions and share their own export journeys.

The Global Alcohol-Free Retailers Symposium will then take place on 9 November to give DIT more understanding on retailers needs as retailers and venues will be brought together online to exchange data, as well as share knowledge on distribution, importing and sales.

This comes as Club Soda began a Crowdfunder earlier this month to raise £25,000 to open its first permanent venue in Autumn.

Featuring a tasting room, shop and bar, the social change enterprise brand looks to launch the venue on Drury Lane in London where people can try alcohol-free drinks, guided by mindful drinking experts.
