Tesco brings back Kids Eat Free scheme for half-term as cost-of-living crisis intensifies

Tesco is bringing back its Kids Eat Free scheme at all its cafes during the October half-term, as the cost-of-living crisis continues to apply the pressure on families.

The offer enables parents to spend as little as 60p to claim one free child’s meal worth up to £3.25 when showing their Clubcard at Tesco checkouts and will be available in 311 cafes across the UK.

To cover the half-term dates, the UK’s leading supermarket’s scheme will run on weekdays between 17th and 28th October in England, and Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales between 31st October and 4th November.

During the summer school holidays, Tesco cafes gave away free meals for over 260,000 children. Other supermarkets offered similar initiatives during this period, including Asda and Morrisons and M&S.

Kids Eat Free is part of Tesco’s drive to help customers spend less – putting more money back in their pocket ahead of the Christmas season at a time when energy prices and inflation are hitting record levels.

Earlier this week, Tesco announced they are to cut 325 roles from its regional offices but plans to hire 12,500 more temporary workers for the busy festive season.
