Spar partners with tech platform to enhance customer experience

Convenience chain Spar has partnered with technology platform CitrusAd to deliver a personalised and targeted experience to its online customers.

CitrusAd’s retail media platform, which offers sponsored product and banner advertising to its supplier brands to drive awareness and sales, will now be Spar’s worldwide supplier of e-grocery retail media solutions.

Spar will benefit from a platform which can be adapted to each of its markets and enable individual retailers to connect with shoppers through a personalised experience.

This drive comes as Spar looks to closer collaborate with both its local and international suppliers across its 13,600 stores in 48 countries.

“At Spar International we are always looking for new and innovative ways to meet the needs of our customers,” said Spar International head of international operations, Tom Rose.

“Our agreement with CitrusAd will enable us to continue delivering a more personalised, targeted and holistic experience to our consumers online, matching our offline approach

“We look forward to being able to build on our e-service offering across our markets and delivering a customer experience that is as seamless and efficient as possible.”

CitrusAd chief operating officer, Adam Skinner added: “We are excited to be a part of SPAR’s digital transformation journey, helping the business maximise its online presence across its various markets.

“Retail media is fast becoming a key component of a retailer’s onsite capabilities, helping them to monetise their digital shelf space and delivering the true value of e-commerce to suppliers.”

This news comes as Spar has partnered with food tech company, Whywaste to help tackle food waste by as much as 40% in store.
