Sainsbury’s have quadrupled the distribution of Oggs’ plant-based egg alternative, Scrambled Oggs, after growing consumer interest in the plant-based egg alternative category.
The vegan brand said the product went from being sold in 126 stores to 533 Sainsbury’s stores after only 12 weeks of sales.
Vegans and vegetarians will be able to find the plant-based product in the chilled meat-free section in 533 of the retailer’s stores across the UK from today.

While plant-based egg alternatives are relatively new to the UK market, consumers are rapidly adopting it as the plant-based egg alternative category has seen 99% growth in the last year.
According to the vegan company, one 330ml bottle of Scrambled Oggs is equivalent to six eggs and has 60% less CO2e than normal eggs. It also comes in a bottle made of 100% recycled plastic.
Casual dining restaurants including Bill’s also use Scrambled Oggs as part of their plant-based breakfast and brunch menus.
“The launch of Scrambled Oggs nationwide marks the next stage in our mission to remove unnecessary egg products from the food chain,” Oggs CEO Hannah Carter said.
“If you could switch eggs for a plant-based option that tastes great and produces 60% less CO2e – why wouldn’t you?”
