Beer brand Corona, part of Budweiser Brewing Group UK, has announced the nationwide rollout of Corona Tropical, an alcoholic sparkling water made with fruit juice.
Corona Tropical will continue the rollout of its single and 8x330ml formats in supermarkets and convenience stores and will launch in a single 330ml can.
Containing 96 calories and 2.4g of sugar per 330ml, the beverage comes in three exotic flavours: Guava & Lime, Raspberry & Lemon and Grapefruit & Lemongrass.
The alcoholic sparkling water category has been rising year-on-year, forecasted to be worth £17 million in value by the end of 2022, equating to a 193% growth.
Corona has seen a sales growth of 38.7% year-on-year since 2018.
To support the launch, the beer brand has launched a nationwide marketing campaign including installing a real fruit billboard in central London.
“We’re excited to offer a new Corona beverage to those who love the brand but are looking for options outside of beer,” Corona Tropical marketing manager Liz Hemus said.
“It’s been a big year of innovation for the brand following the launch of Corona Cero in March, and we’re excited to expand our super-premium portfolio beyond beer to cater to even more consumer needs.
“Corona is renowned for its refreshing taste and quality – placing it in the perfect position to grow this category with a super-premium proposition.”
