Morrisons speeds up in-store card payments with Wordline partnership

Morrisons has extended its current partnership with global leader in payment services, Worldline with an aim to improve its customers overall payment experience.

The collaboration will see Lane/3000 PIN Pads implemented across all stores to increase the transactional resilience and speed of card payments.

This technology will further develop the Big 4 grocer’s in-store payment system through helping to manage multi-lane, self-check and restaurant transactions.

As a result, customers will be able to pay faster, reducing overall waiting times and creating a swifter shopping experience.

The Worldline PIN pads, which were first introduced to Morrisons stores in September 2021, are compliant with PCI regulations and guarantee maximum security to all encrypted debit/credit card transactions.

“Morrisons is a much-loved household name across the UK, and we are delighted to announce the extension of our partnership which will ensure speedy and reliable payments for all Morrisons customers,” Worldline merchant services managing director northern Europe, Lee Jones said.

“We are very excited to see the new Lane/3000 being rolled-out across stores, enabling Morrisons and its customers to benefit from a fast, seamless and secure solution.”

Morrisons customer and colleague technology director, Kate Lavery added: “We are delighted to be extending our longstanding and valued partnership with Worldline.

“The Lane/3000 peds provide a secure offering for us and an enhanced customer experience across the retail business.”
