Mondelēz International names new Northern Europe president

Mondelēz International has promoted Jay Cooper to its president for Northern Europe.

Cooper, who has been with the company for 20 years, will be responsible for Mondelēz International’s businesses in the UK, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark where the snack company manufactures and sells brands including Cadbury, Oreo, Bassetts, Ritz, belVita, Freia and Maribou.

During his tenure, Cooper has led biscuit, chocolate and confectionery businesses in the US and internationally, most recently holding the position of senior vice president of growth for North America.

Cooper said: “I’m delighted to lead one of Northern Europe’s largest, most admired companies, home to iconic brands including Cadbury, Oreo and Freia.

“The business continues to deliver strong growth year-on-year, investing in our operations, colleagues and best-loved brands.

“I’m looking forward to building on this success, responding to changing customer expectations in a dynamic policy environment.”

He replaces Clive Jones, who will become Mondelēz’s president of Central Europe, EU central sales and global licensing.
