Tesco has partnered with home and garden retailer Homebase to open a number of in-store concessions in Tesco Extra stores across the country.
The move will see the DIY-focused retailer bringing its products and expertise to the UK’s largest supermarket as part of a three-store roll-out. The first store will be opening as part of the Tesco Extra in Borehamwood this Saturday, 19 March, followed by Walkden and Woolwich in April.
The new Tesco Homebase concessions will have “everything customers need to update, refresh, or completely transform their homes and gardens”.
Key categories will include paint, power tools, home accessories and hardware, as well as outdoor furniture, garden decorations, firepits and lanterns.

Customers will also be able to browse kitchen, bathroom, and lighting displays to inspire bigger projects, “making it even easier for Tesco customers to create their dream home and garden”.
A team of Homebase experts will be on hand in each shop to inspire and help customers, while a Click and Collect service will allow customers to place their order on the Homebase website and collect within one hour.
Homebase CEO Damian McGloughlin said: “We’re really excited to be partnering with Tesco, bringing our home and garden products and expertise to even more local communities.
“We’re always looking for ways to make it easier for customers to shop with us and teaming up with Tesco means we’re able to do just that.”

Sainsbury’s sold Homebase a long time back, at the start of this century – although imagine a lot of people would still make that connection.
Your over 20 years too late and a few owners since Sainsbury’s.
