Asda has announced its partnership with Just Eat, allowing customers to buy food from the grocer via the food delivery app from January 2022.
Asda revealed the exact locations will be announced in the new year.
Just Eat, best known for its restaurant and fast food delivery, is expected to offer up to 1,000 grocery items available for customers to buy seven days a week.
Additionally, the partnership is expected to expand to more stores throughout the year.
The partnership expanded the two company’s current offerings, where Just Eat delivers pizzas and meal deals from Asda Kitchen, the supermarket in-store diner.
“We live in an on-demand world, and as the UK’s largest food delivery aggregator, we want to ensure we are getting our customers the food they want when they want it.” Just Eat managing director Andrew Kenny said.

“Our tie-up with Asda means we can help people access everything from store cupboard essentials to fresh groceries in a matter of minutes.
“It’s a really exciting development and we look forward to working with Asda on what will be a popular addition for our consumers.”
This is Just Eat’s first partnership with a British supermarket as it follows rivals Deliveroo and Uber Eats, which already have fast delivery deals with some of the UK’s biggest supermarkets.
Asda vice-president of online grocery told The Guardian: “We’re always looking for new ways to offer customers more choice and extend the number of delivery options available,”
“The trial will also see Asda become more accessible to a wider customer base through Just Eat’s significant presence in the on-demand food delivery space.”
The news comes after Asda appointed former Marks & Spencer chief executive Stuart Rose as its chairman.
