Asda CFO joins Card Factory board

Former Asda chief financial officer Robert McWilliam has been appointed by Card Factory as its independent non-executive director.

McWilliam will become a member of the greeting card retailer’s audit and risk, nomination and remuneration committee and is due to start his new role November 1.

McWilliam has been chief financial officer at Asda since 2018 and previously worked as vice president of consumables at Amazon UK. 

He has also held several past senior positions at the Big 4 grocer , including commercial finance and strategy director and business change director.

These positions  spanned across 1997 to 2012. 

McWilliam is currently a non-executive director of Venture Simulations and a non-executive director and trustee of Jisc. 

“Rob brings extensive retail and digital business experience, which is aligned with Card Factory‘s strategic priorities, which were recently shared with market,” Card Factory chairman Paul Moody said. 

“He will bring a depth and breadth of knowledge and commercial insight that will add capability and capacity to the board.”
